About Tim

Tim Blevins, LCSW, MBA is a licensed psychotherapist an clinical social worker with over 30 years of management experience as a healthcare executive with proven behavioral health, strategic leadership, operations, and integrated medical/behavioral healthcare delivery system innovation for Fortune 500 multi-national, US national and middle market companies domestically and globally. In addition to assisting parents of adolescent and young adult children navigate the mental healthcare system, Tim also works with healthcare digital start ups. He has an undergraduate degree from Stetson University in Deland, FL, a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hartford. He currently sits on the board of the Society for Participatory Medicine and Clifford Beers Community Care.

Tim grew up as a gay adolescent in a household where his father went from being a car salesman to becoming a baptist minister in the conservative Midwest. With his family moving almost every year Tim found it difficult to get his footing and faced many struggles and challenges. With the help of a few good mentors in his life, he eventually learned to operate in complex environments and became a master problem-solver.

As a healthcare executive, Tim worked with senior leaders within organizations including Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield Rhode Island and most recently as a Senior Vice President, Employer Channel with Optum Behavioral Health. He became painfully aware of the shortage of mental health care providers, and how the field has become very specialized, making it difficult for people, particularly parents of adolescent and young adult children, to find and secure the treatment they need. Tim uses his clinical expertise and leverages his experience in the insurance industry to weave through the maze of the mental healthcare system and help clients get the appropriate treatment they need for their children.
